Almost Summer 2006

New non-fiction titles at the library include a couple recent biographies, the first is "Let Every Nation Know : John F. Kennedy In His Own Words" by Robert Dallek and "My Life In France" by Julia Child. For readers of current affairs there is "America Against the World" by Andrew Kohut. For those interested in religious history there is "The Jesus Dynasty : The Hidden History of Jesus, His Royal Family and the Birth of Christianity" by James Tabor. For fun and fun only, there is "Real Men Don't Apologize" by Jim Belushi.

For those of you who enjoy literary fiction there are new titles to choose from including "Poe Shadow" by Matthew Pearl, "Fortunate Son" by Walter Mosley, "Gravedigger" by Peter Grandbois. Lighter fare for the lazy summer afternoon includes new fiction titles like "Coupon Girl" by Becky Motew, "Project Daddy" by Kate Perry and "Getting to Third Date" by Kelly McClymer. Mystery readers might enjoy "Tomb of the Golden Bird" by Elizabeth Peters.

For those of you who listen to your books the library has new books on cd like "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" by Carson McCullers and "Dark Tort" by Diane Mott Davidson.

Spring 2006 Titles

New fiction titles for adults include "Orbit" by John Nance; "Tenth Circle" by Jodi Piccoult; "The Madonnas of Leningrad" by Debra Dean; "Solstice Wood" by Patricia McKillip; "Prior Bad Acts" by Tami Hoag.

New nonfiction titles for adults include "Impostor: How George W. Bush Bankrupted America and Betrayed the Reagan Legacy" by Bruce Bartlett; "Hip Knit Hats" by Cathy Carron and "The Gourmet Potluck" by Beth Hensperger.

New titles for children include "The King of Mulberry Street" by Donna Jo Napoli;"Night of the New Magicians" by Mary Pope Osbourne; "Hanne's Quest" by Olivier Dunrea; "My Mei Mei" by Ed Young. There are a couple new titles for teens which are "Avalon High" by Meg Cabot, "It Girl" by Cecily Von Ziegesar.

November New Items

The Gays Mills Public Library has several new magazine titles this month.

New magazines for adults include :
Sunset; a magazine about the life in the western United States including features on home, travel, food and gardens.
Popular Mechanics; most of you know about this tried and true title. Fun features on all things made by humans.

New magazines for teens include :
GamePro and Computer Gaming ; both of these new titles are devoted to you gamers out there. Includes new game reviews, codes and cheats for other games.
Seventeen; contains articles on beauty tips, fashion, star interviews, health and more for teens.

Magazines can be checked out for one week.
